The Denis Tomlin Room - The Archive

The Denis Tomlin Room is situated in the Leonard Stevens Building (the Old Music School) and was opened by the great man himself on 4th May 2012.  Current School Archivist, John Loynton, has done a fantastic job in preparing the room and its displays.  It is planned that former pupils will be able to come back and visit the archive. Details of these arrangements will be published here once they are decided.

John is always happy to receive any items (uniform, documents, pictures, etc.) for inclusion into the archive and these can be left at the Main Office in the Headmaster's Wing for him.

Top of John's wish list at the moment are -

  • A herring bone suit as worn in the 50s & 60s
  • Charcoal grey uniform (from Manleys / Foster Bros)
  • Blazers
  • School caps (including the plain caps with the coloured house band)
  • School and Old Silhillian ties
  • House rugby shirts
  • Mannequins to display uniforms

Please raid your attics!   If you find anything that may be of interest please contact John HERE|.
