The School

School Aerial 2005

The contents of this section have been largely garnered from two sources; the first is the book 'Solihull and its School' by John Burman, F.R.Hist.S. published in 1938; the second is from a Denis Tomlin series of articles written by Denis Tomlin, Deputy Headmaster, sometime Acting Headmaster and Governor.

Denis's association with Solihull School| has spanned over 50 years.   One Headmaster referred to Denis as "The conscience of the School" - few would argue with that.   On his retirement Denis was appointed the School's archivist.  Like all children even Old Silhillians like to know where they came from and in that series of articles in the Silhillian Magazine| of the early 90s Denis continued to educate the School's former pupils in the history of their alma mater.

Any corrections or additions should be notified to the Webmaster|
